First of all I am a father, in second place I am a Software Architect & Developer with 11 years of experience in Information Technology. I concentrate my work on open source technologies and network applications. My specialities are Java Programming Language with most of it's APIs and the World Wide Web technologies. I have been working in Gilbarco Veeder Root for the last 7 years but in parallel with a lot of personal projects including Desktop, Services and Web solutions. Before that, I had my experience into a dot com company, Mercantil.com, a company with Chilenians Investors who wanted to open branches all over Latin America. Mercantil.com was a B2B startup in the dream of the '00. The dream last just 6 months, after that, all of us were fired. IBM was my first serious company in the year 2000. I was part of the e-business IT team. Lot of people just hate IBM because they don't pay good salaries and they don't have good benefits but for me IBM was great, I learned a lot. I remember that an application of Supplier Payments to show a simple screen it will communicate with 3 or more databases spreaded arround the world. You don't see that every day. My last job thought me a lot of things that I know today, but my best friend are "the Internets" and books. In the beginning were books, but today, I cant breath without Internet. I can find answers to all my questions right there. If not, I can just post my question and some good samaritan will post the answer. I have a degree in Phisical Education Teacher from the IEF N1 in Argentina. The funny part, I never worked on that. I tried 3 times Software Engineer in the University of Palermo and ORT, but nothing worked out. I got bored quickly. I have a few Sun Microsystems and IBM certifications and courses. My first IT job was an intership in Systech, an IBM business partner. My good friend Martin brought me there to learn Smalltalk at that time. In Systech I met Leonardo Pronzolino and his uncle (a co-founder of systech) Francisco Yannino who were my professional inspiration. Today I remember Leonardo explaining me the concept of Object with the dog example and differents races. Today, after 10 years, Leonardo works in Gilbarco but in other department. Is good to have him close. My first software was a running man done in Basic with the Commodore 64, I was 10 years old at that time. Today at 30, I am able to understand, architect, design, develop, test and deliver a product that will ROCK your business. My professional objective is spread my knowledge, and if I cant collect some dollars... better!. I'm doing this blog/tech articles with the purpose of share my experiences and get some knowledge from the others. Get in touch with people for business or just for fun.
